Job Summary:
The Janitor is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall orderliness of the Temecula Veterans Center. This role ensures a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for employees, clients, and visitors by performing routine cleaning and maintenance tasks.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1.General Cleaning & Maintenance
Sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, and sanitize all designated areas, including offices, restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, and shared equipment.
Maintain windows, mirrors, and glass partitions free of streaks and smudges.
2.Waste & Recycling Management
Empty trash receptacles, replace liners, and dispose of waste in designated areas.
Sort and dispose of recyclables according to facility guidelines.
Maintain cleanliness in waste disposal areas.
3.Restroom Maintenance
Clean and disinfect restrooms, ensuring proper sanitation.
Restock supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels.
Report any plumbing or fixture issues to the supervisor.
4.Floor Care
Sweep and mop floors; vacuum and spot-clean carpets as needed.
Follow proper floor maintenance procedures for different surfaces.
5.Supply & Equipment Management
Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and notify the supervisor when replenishment is needed.
Properly store and handle cleaning chemicals following safety guidelines.
Ensure proper use and maintenance of mops, vacuums, and sanitation equipment.
7.Safety & Compliance
Follow all workplace safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Identify and report potential hazards or unsafe conditions.
Respond to spills and emergency cleaning situations promptly.
8.Additional Duties
Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor to support facility upkeep.
